Lloyd, who set a new Guinness World Records title for being the youngest person to complete a marathon (II2 male) on Sunday 21 April, was congratulated by Special Olympics GB partner Ocean Outdoor on its giant its 63-metre2 screen, which is the only commercial site in the famous central-London location.

Kevin Henry, Head of Content & Sponsorship at Ocean Outdoor, said: “The aim of Ocean's partnership with Special Olympics GB is to shine a light on young people and children through the opportunity of sport. Lloyd is a superb example. We hope his record-breaking marathon win will inspire many more young people to come forward and have a go.”

Camberley-based Lloyd is part of the Special Olympics GB movement through Ascot United Warriors football club and Prime Acrobatics gymnastics club in Woking. He was one of two Special Olympics GB athletes to complete the TCS London Marathon, with James Wyatt of Special Olympics Derbyshire, and member of the Athlete Leadership Team, also completing the iconic 26.2-mile event.

Since securing his place in the TCS London Marathon at the end of last year, he has been raising funds for Special Olympics GB and Stepping Stones DS, with nearly £18,000 combined raised to date through his JustGiving page.

“It’s pretty cool to see myself on such a big screen in central London,” said Lloyd. “I loved running the marathon and I’ve had so many people come up to me and send me nice messages since doing it.

“The Guinness World Records is one of my favourite books and I’ve got quite a big collection at home. I can’t wait to see myself in the 2025 edition for running the TCS London Marathon.”
